On June 12, 2025, The Westin Resort & Spa Cam Ranh collaborated with the Hity brand to organize a workshop on "Embroidery Therapy," a unique cultural highlight aimed at spreading the art of traditional Vietnamese hand embroidery to the international press. This event was a meaningful activity in the "Rejuvenating Retreat at The Westin Resort & Spa Cam Ranh" series (taking place from June 12-16, 2025), bringing together journalists and KOLs from Singapore, South Korea, Japan, China, India, the United States, and Australia, while also celebrating World Health Day and the resort's first anniversary.

Before entering the workshop, guests toured an exhibition space that celebrated the depth of hand embroidery artistry.

They explored the journey of the thread through the ages – from ancient linen and hemp to contemporary cotton and ombre silk.

And admire the unfinished embroidery pieces, showcasing the unique techniques of each stitch.

Standing out in the space were silk ao dai dresses, adorned with exquisite motifs such as lotus flowers, peacocks, cranes, and rice stalks.

And the characteristic tropical imagery of Central Vietnam is vividly portrayed.

Guests also had the opportunity to experience firsthand the rustic charm of pure Vietnamese natural fabrics, which Hity transformed into elegant resort attire, embellished with H'mong brocade as a subtle touch of cultural exchange.

The next day, I found myself at an embroidery therapy workshop hosted by, Hity , a sustainable fashion brand. I didn't expect to be so moved by the simple act of stitching, but there was something deeply soothing about it. The workshop, designed to spotlight the art of traditional Vietnamese hand embroidery, became a moment of unexpected mindfulness . Amidst the fresh and peaceful atmosphere of The Westin Resort & Spa Cam Ranh's "cultural station," artisan Ty Trang from Hity led guests on a journey back in time. Instead of modern technology, everyone experienced traditional hand embroidery techniques firsthand—methods that have existed for over a century but still retain their value. This was not just an embroidery class, but a vibrant showcase of heritage. Guests were amazed and delighted to personally experience these centuries-old embroidery techniques.

From the process of copying patterns onto fabric using tracing paper, manually punching holes, and applying oil – techniques thought to be lost – to holding the needle, threading the thread, and creating the first embroidery stitches, everything is authentically recreated.

Artisan Ty Trang not only taught the skills but also breathed life into each step, helping guests appreciate the meticulousness, patience, and depth of Vietnamese hand embroidery art.

The hustle and bustle of the outside world seemed to pause, giving way to absolute concentration on each stitch. Initially, it was curiosity, then intense focus, and finally, pure joy. The 90-minute workshop brought about an incredible transformation. Guests, accustomed to the fast-paced and stressful nature of global travel, were completely immersed in the world of needlework. Their initially clumsy fingers gradually became more skillful through patience and mindfulness. There were no more worries, no more pressure, only the embroiderer, the fabric, and the patterns taking shape.

More than just an art form, guests realized that hand embroidery is a form of therapy for the mind, requiring concentration and offering precious tranquility.
